Dr. William McConnell has more than 20 years of experience in business operations, continuity management, and information systems and software development in both the public and private sectors.
Notable credits include providing disaster recovery software-development solutions as a CEO and consultant for the Illinois-based WSM Consulting, and operations expertise as an Office Operations Supervisor for the U.S. Census Bureau—the latter for which he completed seven projects covering 14 counties.
From 1998 to 2007, Dr. McConnell served as a Programmer (COBOL and COBOL-WOW) and Project Manager for Grossman & Associates, which provides commodity management software solutions for agricultural companies throughout North America. Additionally, as a member of the U.S. Air Force, he managed and directed operations in command centers in the U.S., Iceland, and Turkey.
Prior to becoming Campus Dean for the Chicago Campus in 2012, Dr. McConnell served as a full-time Professor for Strayer University’s Schaumburg Campus, as well as a faculty member for the Parkland College Business Training Center.
Dr. McConnell earned his Doctor of Management, Organizational Leadership, Information Systems and Technology from the University of Phoenix. He also holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems (CIS) from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Science in CIS from Troy State University, an Associate of Science in CIS from George C. Wallace State Community College, and an Associate of Applied Science in Aerospace Studies from the Community College of the Air Force, Gunter AFB.
