How to Attend a Commencement Ceremony

Associate's, bachelor’s and master’s students are eligible to participate in commencement if you are within TWO courses of completing your degree at the time of the ceremony . Interested students should register for commencement, note your confirmation number and order your cap and gown before the deadlines below.

2015 Commencement Dates and Deadlines

May 16, 2015 – Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia, 10:00 a.m.

Registration and Cap and Gown Deadline: April 17, 2015*

*The Atlanta ceremony is limited to the first 1,800 student registrations. This ceremony will be 3-4 hours.

 

June 27, 2015 – Verizon Center, Washington, District of Columbia, 3:00 p.m.

Registration and Cap and Gown Deadline: May 29, 2015*

 *The Washington, D.C. ceremony is limited to the first 1,800 student registrations. This ceremony will be 3-4 hours.

 

August 8, 2015 – Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte, North Carolina, 10:00 a.m.

Registration and Cap and Gown Deadline: July 10, 2015

 

October 24, 2015 – Norfolk Scope Arena, Norfolk, Virginia, 10:00 a.m.

Registration and Cap and Gown Deadline: September 25, 2015

 

December 5, 2015 – Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore, Maryland, 3:00 p.m.

Registration and Cap and Gown Deadline: November 6, 2015

How to Receive Your Diploma

To submit your degree conferral application, login to your iCampus account.

Diplomas are NOT provided at commencement. In order to receive your diploma, you need to complete the Degree Conferral Application once you have finalized registration for your final class(es).

Completing the Degree Conferral Application is SEPARATE from registering to participate in a commencement ceremony. Degree conferral applications do NOT need to be approved in order to participate in a commencement ceremony.

To Submit your Degree Conferral Application:

  1. Login to your iCampus account.
  2. Click on the My Academics link under the Assignments and Academic Support tab..
  3. Click the Apply for Graduation link to begin the process.

Students Using Federal Financial Aid

If you have used Federal Financial Aid Stafford or PLUS loans to finance your education, you are required to complete Exit Counseling before you officially graduate. Exit Counseling should be completed before you submit your Degree Conferral Application.
