Dean-School of Information Systems/FT
Strayer University seeks nominations and applications for the position of Dean, School of Information Systems. The Dean of the School of Information Systems is a senior member of the University’s academic leadership team.
Responsible for the University’s associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s degree and certificate programs in information systems, the Dean of the School of Information Systems is the primary academic officer of the School and reports to the Provost. The Dean collaboratively works with the President, Provost, Senior Vice Provosts, deans of other schools within the University, regional, online and campus leaders, department chairs, full- and part-time faculty, staff, and other Strayer University administrators to strategically plan, develop and implement superior academic programs and services to support students from enrollment to graduation. The Dean provides leadership to the School in strengthening its academic programs through curriculum development and management, and regular program planning, review and assessment. The Dean promotes faculty collegiality and development and serves as a champion for the School’s needs within the University community. The School of Information Systems is concerned primarily with study areas that involve computer information systems and computer concepts. The Dean provides leadership and a commitment to ensure the quality of information systems programs in the School.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Establish a strategic direction for the School that enhances student academic success and teaching excellence;
· Lead curriculum development and related efforts in areas of strategic interest to the University;
· Lead and coordinate academic program reviews;
· Assist with faculty recruitment, selection, assignment, development and evaluation;
· Develop and implement program assessment plans and participate in university-wide outcomes assessment activities;
· Manage relationships between Strayer University and specialized accrediting agencies or associations in the program area and develop new relationships as appropriate;
· Interact effectively and collaboratively with all areas of the institutional community and promote collegiality and consensus building;
· Cultivate and achieve the University’s strategic plan with respect to emerging technology and information systems fields.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a regionally accredited program with a Ph.D. in one of the School’s fields of study; higher education teaching required, and higher education leadership and research experience preferred; demonstrated involvement in professional continuing education; dedication to adult learning, scholarship and service; experience in curriculum development, assessment and program review in a higher education environment; superior written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; superior management ability.

As part of our effort to grow our onsite programs, we are looking for a high performing individual to fill an Associate Onsite Programs Dean position, reporting to the Onsite Programs Dean. The Associate Onsite Programs Dean will be responsible for academic quality at an assigned Onsite location.
