Admissions Requirements

At Strayer University, we don't have a mold that you have to fit in to become a student. We will consider your application on its individual merits.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Prospective undergraduate students must hold a high school diploma or its U.S. equivalent. You must submit the following information to your admissions officer:

  • Completed application form
  • Application fee
  • Certification of high school graduation or equivalent

If you are transferring to Strayer University from another post-secondary educational institution, you may be eligible to receive transfer credit or advanced standing if your work at the other institution is appropriate. You may also be eligible to receive credit for life/work experience. Your admissions officer and faculty advisor can help you through this process.

Graduate Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission to an advanced degree program at Strayer University, we require the following credentials:

  • Completed application form
  • Proof of completion of a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Any undergraduate major will be considered, but if it varies widely from a proposed graduate major, you may need to take certain undergraduate foundation courses.
  • Official copies of transcripts from all other colleges or universities attended
  • Satisfactory performance in at least one of the following areas:
    • A minimum cumulative score of 450 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
    • A minimum cumulative score of 1,000 on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
    • A 2.75 undergraduate grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the junior and senior years of the Baccalaureate degree (that is, the second half of the credits required for the degree, normally the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours).
    • Evidence of graduate potential. Special consideration may be given to applicants who show graduate potential and have a minimum of three years of professional or business experience. A personal interview with a Campus Dean is required.
