JAVA

Download and install JAVA. Blackboard requires the latest version of JRE (Java Runtime Environment) which is of “Sun JRE 6”.

*Follow these steps to enable JAVA applets in Internet Explorer browser:

  1. Click on Tools. Then click on Internet Options.
  2. Click on the Security tab. Click on Internet at top of box. 
  3. Click the Custom level button. Scroll down the list to Scripting of JAVA applets and select Enable.
  4. Click the OK button.
  5. Click OK again in the Internet Options box.

*Follow these steps to enable JAVA applets in Firefox browser:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. On the Tools menu. Then click on Options.
  3. Click on the Content.
  4. Check the box next to Enable JavaScript.
  5. Click OK

*Note: JAVA applets need to be enabled in order to work in a web browser. JAVA applets are programs created in Java. These applets are designed to display animations, play sounds, draw dynamic interactive graphics, play games and present usable spreadsheets online.
Internet Connection
Recommended: High speed such as Cable, DSL or FIOS.
Minimum: Dial-up modem with a speed of 56 Kbps.
