Advanced Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining (BUS528)

Provides an overview of labor relations including its history, law,challenges and opportunities. Exhibits the collective bargaining process with an emphasis on establishing a bargaining unit, unfair labor practices and negotiating an agreement. Analyzes the cost of labor contracts from the perspectives of wages and salaries, employee benefits, and job security and seniority. Demonstrates the labor relations process in action by discussing implementation of the collective bargaining agreement, grievance and disciplinary procedures, the arbitration process, and unions and equal employment issues. Integrates global coverage, practical information, examples from labor contracts and hearings, and experiential exercises.
