Bachelor of Science in Accounting
The principle objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Accounting program are to provide students with a broad, fundamental knowledge of the field, and to prepare students for employment in accounting careers.
Students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Accounting may exercise an individual option, through the selection of elective courses, which may allow him/her to prepare for professional goals such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), or Accredited Business Accountant (ABA).
Many states require additional businessrelated courses to prepare for the CPA exam. Students should consult their respective state Board of Accountancy for further details.
Also available: an Undergraduate Certificate in Introductory or Advanced Accounting; a Diploma and an Associate in Arts in Accounting, an Executive Graduate Certificate and Master of Science in Professional Accounting.
Credits, degrees, certificates and diplomas earned from Strayer University do not automatically qualify the holder to participate in professional licensing examinations to practice certain professions in Florida or any other state. All students interested in practicing a regulated accounting profession requiring licensure from a state regulatory agency, and especially those students in Florida, should contact the appropriate state regulatory agency in their field of interest. Licensing information is also available from the following Web sites: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, Institute of Internal Auditors, Institute of Management Accountants, and Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation.
