ACC 576-Auditing and Business Concepts

Prerequisites: ACC 403

This course covers advanced topics in auditing and the generalbusiness environment for students pursuing a career in publicaccounting. Concepts covered include attestation engagements andadvanced accounting functions affecting businesses. Students analyzeadvanced audit and accounting information and makerecommendation both orally and in writing. Topics include auditingprocedures, domestic generally accepted auditing standards, auditreports, other attestation reports, other professional services, theSarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, the Public Company AccountingOversight Board, the nature of business structures, the analysis ofeconomic concepts used in business, advanced aspects of thefinancial management of a business, information technology issues inbusiness, and the accounting planning and management functions ofa business.
