FIN 410-Commercial Bank Management

Prerequisite: FIN 350

This course covers the theory and practice of commercial bankingfrom a financial-management perspective. It focuses on the dynamicand rapidly changing financial-services industry. It explores modernfinancial management decision-making and highlights the importanceof adapting to change and creating value as the way for firms tosucceed. Students will acquire skills in technology banking (e-money,e-banking and e-commerce) and risks and valuation, loans,management of liquidity reserves, investment portfolio, and sourcesof funds. Students develop skills in managing commercial banksthrough an understanding of bank objectives, functions, policies,organization and structure, and by evaluating different types ofservices and bank regulations.
