This course will provide students with theory, tools and practicalexperience in health care financial management. It examines paymentsources and reimbursement arrangements; the public and privatefinancing of health care service organizations from both a theoreticaland practical perspective, and discusses emerging trends in thehealth care industry that affect financial decision-making. Topics ofstudy include capital and debt financing, capital structure, financialplanning, operating revenue, working capital, resource allocation andfinancial analysis of the industry. A case study method will be used toprovide the student with the opportunity to analyze a working healthcare organization.
