Presents a detailed study of lodging management and front officemanagement systems by detailing the flow of operational proceduresfor the total hotel organization. The student will examine the variouselements of effective front office management, paying particularattention to the planning and evaluation of front office operations,human resources management, and guest services. Course contentwill include interdepartmental communications, computerapplications, managerial reporting and a review of the current andfuture trends in technology. The student will be able to interpretstatistical analyses in areas of price structure, occupancy patterns andincome. These analyses will serve as the bases for improving decisionmaking and for policy and procedure implementation.
