JWI 531-Financial Management II

A continued exploration of corporate finance, this course focuses onthe advanced financial management skills required to evaluate assetsand manage risk in a global market. Students learn such analyticalapproaches as capital budgeting and the weighted average cost ofcapital, and then apply them to resource decisions involving domesticand international projects. They also gain a deeper understanding ofthe movement of exchange rates, interest rates, and other factorsthat influence capital markets.In today's competitive business environment, companies must findinnovative and creative ways to facilitate quick and sustainablegrowth. This course has been designed to develop skills to achievethis goal. The course covers such topics as managing relationshipsbetween stakeholders and evaluating mergers and acquisitions bidsand the companies behind them. The course focuses on theknowledge, skills, and abilities needed to succeed in today's fastpacedbusiness world.
