Prerequisite: PAD 500

Get a foundation in public policy analysis. Explore the interrelationships among politics, policy formulation and implementation, and ethics and values, with an emphasis on the public sector in the United States. Examine how political parties, key stakeholders, interest groups and public opinion influence public policy. Understand public policy's role and issues in federal, state, local and nonprofit agencies; and learn how public bureaucracies implement policy through decision making, planning, organizing and other administrative processes.
