Strayer University’s Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (BSCJ) with Homeland Security and Emergency Management concentration provides you with the knowledge, skills, and professional abilities relevant to the criminal justice field. Your online classes and on-campus criminal justice courses will prepare you to serve in roles such as a Private Security Officer, Emergency Management Specialist, Homeland Security Specialist, Border Security Officer, Maritime and Port Security Officer, and Surveillance Specialist.
With a Homeland Security and Emergency Management concentration you will:
- Examine the nature of and responses to natural disasters, terrorism, and national security
- Learn to assess public and private security vulnerabilities, ethically conduct investigations, and propose solutions that consider the impact on an environment’s infrastructure and resiliency
- Review intra-agency communication and cooperation strategies in emergency management

- Learn how the different arms of the US criminal justice system (police, courts, and corrections) work together at the federal, state, and local levels to keep our society safe.
