BUS 310-Human Resource Management

Analyze the major human resource management functions in organizations. Understand the various components of the human resource management process (workforce planning, recruitment, selection, training/development, compensation, performance appraisal, labor relations and employee relations) and the associated activities to perform these functions. Discuss the workforce management responsibilities of all managers, with an emphasis on job analysis considerations, the supporting role of human resource management to strategic planning and the major government legislation affecting workforce management.

BUS 325-Global Human Resource Management

Examine the considerations for human resource management in support of global business operations. Analyze sources of labor, business strategy, corporate culture and cultural differences as elements of global human resource planning. Review fundamental human resource issues such as compensation, productivity and training.

BUS 335-Staffing Organizations

Examine the role of staffing to support an organization’s strategy and improve productivity. Review the key legal compliance issues associated with staffing organizations. Focus on HRM planning, job analysis, effective recruitment strategies, developing selection processes and the formulation of staffing plans.  Consider strategies for employee retention.

BUS 407-Training and Development

Understand the concepts of learning (cognitive and behaviorist), principles of instructional design and the relationship between motivation and learning. Analyze the phases of the training process model and the activities associated with each phase. Review how to develop viable training programs to fit a variety of organizational requirements for both employee and management training and development.

BUS 409-Compensation Management

Analyze the basic concepts of compensation administration in organizations. Explore an intensive study of the wage system, methods of job evaluation, wage and salary structures, and the legal constraints on compensation programs.

$1,420.00 per course (Full-Time), $1,420.00 per course (Part Time). Textbooks and supplies are not included in the tuition rates and must be purchased by the student. You should allow approximately $6,000.00 for textbooks and supplies over the course of your degree.

BUS 302-Management Concepts

Focus on the roles, the environment and the primary functions of the manager (planning, organizing, leading, controlling), as well as the skills required and various techniques used to perform these functions. BUS 309-Business Ethics

Apply ethical principles to typical business challenges. Analyze case situations to illustrate the application of various ethical approaches (utility, individual rights and justice) in managing organizations.

BUS 322-Organizational Behavior

Review the fundamental concepts of organizational behavior, with an emphasis on human problems and behaviors in organizations and methods of dealing with these problems. Focus on motivation, informal groups, power and politics, communication, ethics, conflict resolution, employment laws, technology and people, and managing change.

BUS 475-Business and Society

Explore the role of primary and secondary stakeholders, both within and outside organizations. Investigate ethics and social responsibility and review where organizational activities fall within different continua. Examine the broad forces in business, society and globalization and how stakeholders can influence results in both business and society.

BUS 499-Business Administration Capstone

Examine the processes by which organizations formulate strategy, implement policy, and evaluate outcomes in the highly competitive and dynamic global environment. Focus on the ethical implications of strategic choices throughout the course. Exercise your analytic, integrative, decision-making and business communications skills through the use of case analysis and decision making.

ECO 100-Principles of Economics

Get a basic overview of macro- and microeconomic principles and concepts. Understand the economic dynamics of market forces affecting competition, different economic systems, the role of government in the economy and economic aspects of international trade. Discusses the labor market, interest rates and the supply of money, and the performance of a national economy. Apply economics to business decisions, considering such principles as opportunity costs, diminishing returns and the marginal principle.

Analyze the process by which substantive rights and duties are enforced, including legal pleadings, discovery procedures, pre- and post-trial motions, jurisdiction, venue, trial by jury, equity and previous adjudication problems.
