Financial Performance Analysis (FIN560)
Presents the fundamentals of financial analysis as applied to both corporate finance and financial markets. Examines the information content of financial statements and how external decision makers use this information. Focuses on analyzing the impact of various business transactions on financial statements and how this information is used to make investment, valuation, and credit decisions. Emphasis is placed on corporate capital budgeting. Capital budgeting criteria (NPV, IRR) and cash flow estimation are discussed. Introduces the student to the concepts of competitive capital markets and market efficiency relative to financial markets. Addresses the principles of equity valuation, term structure, and bond valuation.
