Alpha Chi National Honor Society D.C. Gamma Chapter 283, recognizes the high academic achievements of adult learners. It promotes and recognizes the scholarship and good character among undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines.

Undergraduate students

  • minimum of 121.5 credit hours
  • at least 67.5 credit hours at Strayer University
  • an overall 3.8 GPA

Graduate students

  • minimum of 45 graduate credit hours
  • at least 22.5 graduate credit hours at Strayer University
  • an overall 3.8 GPA

To signify membership, the honor cords in blue and green or the honor medallion may be worn on the day of commencement. Both the cord and medallion can be viewed and purchased at http://www.brownsgrad.com/shop/. Select either the AX 503 Honor Cords in gold color or the AX 504 Honor Medallion on Ribbon.

A: The Honor Cord can be purchased directly from the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society website. A certificate of membership will be mailed directly to the student within 6 weeks after the student has completed the induction ceremony.

A: Yes, the honor medallion may be worn at commencement to distinguish academic excellence.
