Strayer University Offers Concentration in Public Accounting

New Program Prepares Students for CPA Exam

As part of the Master of Science in Accounting, Strayer University is pleased to announce the new Concentration in Public Accounting, which began being offered in the Spring Quarter. The program is designed to help students better prepare for the Certified Public Accounting Exam and the CPA certification.

The course material covers major CPA exam topics such as regulation, auditing, the business environment and financial accounting and reporting. Strayer University has partnered with a professional CPA Review course to guarantee students receive proper guidance.

The demand for certified public accountants has recently increased due in part to the renewed focus on business ethics, the growth of business in a global economy and the developments of new technology. Certified public accountants may choose from a variety of career paths including: audit and assurance; tax and financial planning; internal auditing and financial analysis and general accounting, among others.

Master of Science in Accounting students are eligible to enroll in the Concentration in Public Accounting. However, students without a bachelor’s degree in accounting may be asked to take additional coursework as prerequisites.
