Strayer University Mourns Loss of Three-Time Graduate

The Strayer University community was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of three-time graduate Sylvia Frasier during the Sept. 16 shooting at the U.S. Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.
"Our thoughts and prayers go to the Frasier family, and to the families of all the victims of this terrible tragedy," said Dr. Michael Plater, Strayer University president. "As an institution that has been deeply rooted in the Washington, D.C., region for more than 100 years, Strayer University stands united with the people of this community and with the U.S. Navy in grieving this senseless loss of life."
Sylvia Frasier attended Strayer University's Alexandria Campus in Virginia, earning an associate degree in computer information systems in 1999, a bachelor's degree in computer information systems in 2000, and a master's degree in information systems in 2002. According to news reports, Frasier was an Enterprise Information Assurance Manager for the Naval Sea Systems Command.
