October 17, 2012
Brings 120-Year Legacy of Quality Adult Higher Education
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, only one-third of adults age 25 or older in Illinois have a four-year college degree or higher. With the opening of its new campuses and with the opening of campuses in Schaumburg and Downers Grove in 2011, Strayer University continues its aim to increase access to relevant and rigorous post-secondary academic opportunities and meet the demand for a competitive workforce in the area.
“Post-secondary education enables students to acquire 21st century work skills,” said Ghosh. “A well-trained workforce benefits Chicago-area employers while also growing the nation’s economy.”
The Chicago and Aurora campuses offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business administration, accounting, information systems, information technology, human resource management, education, health services administration, public administration and criminal justice.
“Adult learners value high-quality academic programs that expand their professional skill sets and offer immediate, real-world applications,” said Michael Plater, Ph.D., president of Strayer University. “By opening two new campuses in the Chicago area, Strayer University aims to increase access to rigorous higher education programs, while enabling students to balance the demands of work, family and school.”
With a 120-year legacy of educating adult learners, Strayer University offers accessible and rigorous academic programs to working adults, first-generation college students and others who often do not have access to higher education, preparing them for success in today’s competitive job market.
Strayer University’s downtown Chicago campus is located at 100 South Wacker Drive, Suite 103 in Chicago, Ill. The Aurora campus is located at 2245 Sequoia Drive, Suite 301A in Aurora, Ill.
