May 18, 2012
Growing up in Lower Saxony, Germany, Carolin Burger (BBA '12) was determined to earn a college degree in the United States. "It was difficult at first for me to adapt to studying in America since I was accustomed to the German culture and language, but anything is possible through hard work and dedication," Burger recalls.
In recognition of her high academic achievement, Burger was named the Valedictorian at Strayer University’s regional commencement ceremony on May 12 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
"Although it was not an easy journey, Strayer University made it possible for me to fulfill my goal," she says. "Now, I am prepared to move ahead in my career."
Burger has been working for 11 years for Daimler Trucks North America LLC, a Daimler company, where she was recently promoted to market planning project analyst. In her new role, she is responsible for providing industry analysis for the company's business units and executive management teams in both the United States and Germany.
In addition to earning a bachelor's degree in business administration from Strayer University, Burger holds an associate degree in communications from the Akademie für Kommunikation in Kassel, Germany.
