Virtual Commencement Now Open to All Graduating Students
July 19, 2013
Beginning this year, Strayer University will open Virtual Commencement registration to all recent graduates to help them celebrate earning an undergraduate or graduate degree.
"Our students put in years of hard work and make many sacrifices to earn their degree, so it is important for them to take this moment to celebrate their accomplishment," says Dr. Tracey Lacey, senior vice provost of student affairs. "Virtual Commencement is the perfect way for students to reflect on their time at Strayer University."
Virtual Commencement is a customized, interactive website dedicated to celebrating the academic achievements of Strayer University's graduates. The website provides users with many unique features, including graduate profiles, degree presentations, award winners, and video messages from University President Dr. Michael Plater, and Jack Welch, former chairman and chief executive officer of General Electric.
Before they can register for Virtual Commencement, Strayer University’s graduates:
- Must have earned an associate, bachelor’s or master’s in 2013 (the Office of the Registrar must approve students for graduation prior to registering for Virtual Commencement);
- Must have applied and been approved for degree conferral;
- Do not have an outstanding balance with Strayer University; and
- Have registered for Virtual Commencement on time.
