Dr. Calvin E. Moore has two decades of teaching, advocacy, and leadership experience in family child care and early childhood education. He has served for more than fifteen years as an Executive Director for non-profit organizations serving young children in Head Start and Early Head Start programs across the U.S., and is the author of an early childhood curriculum supplement, The Book Curriculum for Early Childhood Professionals.
In 2008, Dr. Moore became the first African American to be elected President of the National Association for Family Child Care, an organization dedicated to ensuring family child care is a recognized component of the larger early care and education field.
Dr. Moore is a full-time Professor at Strayer University’s Birmingham Campus, specializing in education, business, sociology, and research. He also has teaching experience at other institutions in Birmingham, including the University of Alabama, Jefferson State Community College, and Lawson State Community College.
He holds a Doctorate in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Science in Education from Walden University, and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama.
