Politics, Policy and Ethics in the Public Sector (PAD510)

Explores the interrelationships among politics, policy formulation and implementation, and ethics and values with emphasis on the public sector in the United States. Traces the historical, philosophical and constitutional foundations of the American system. Examines the implications of the evolution in the balance of power between the national government and state/local governments. Analyzes the separate and shared powers, roles and management of the three branches of the national government. Uses cases to evaluate the ethical dimensions of the personal and professional judgments of public officials.
