Constitutional and Administrative Law (PAD525)
Examines U.S. public administration in a constitutional, regulatory, and administrative law context. Uses the federal government as the context for analyzing the public sector manager's legal position and accountability. The course, however, is intended not only for public sector managers, but also for managers in the private sector having (or anticipating) significant dealings with public administrators and thus requiring a substantive and penterating understanding of the position of the public sector manager. Accordingly, the course examines the principles of constitutional and administrative law and their practical application in a modern government and business environment. Explores the moral dimensions of public sector management and engages certain ethical theories that are relevant to the moral manager's decision-making process. Introduces Value-Driven Management based on constitutional and administrative law.
