Preferred Lender List for Title IV Loans
As of March 24, 2010
If you choose, you may select a lender from the Preferred Lender List provided below to finance your student loans. Students are not required to select a lender from this list, and are free to select any eligible lender of their choice for their student loans. Strayer University will not deny or otherwise impede a student’s choice of a lender, or cause unnecessary delay certifying loans, for borrowers who choose a lender that is not included on this list.
Strayer University compiled the Preferred Lender List for the benefit of students and their families with the best interests of the student borrower in mind. In selecting these lenders, Strayer University completed the necessary research to identify several reputable lenders that provide favorable rates, service and convenience for students.
Strayer University considered qualitative as well as quantitative factors in identifying Preferred Lenders. Lenders were evaluated on the following criteria:
- A competitive set of products and rates with no hidden fees
- Unsubsidized interest is added to principal of the loan only once during repayment
- Assurance that all benefits will continue for the borrower even if the lender sells the loan to another financial institution
- Excellent service and toll free customer service numbers
- Quick response to the needs of Strayer University students
- Direct contact to the lender representatives to quickly resolve loan issues
- Full electronic processing of loans including electronic funds transfer
Please note that the loan cost offered by the suggested lenders may not be the lowest available. Students are encouraged visit lender websites in order to find the rates, terms, and services that are right for them. Students considering private loans should realize that they may qualify for loans or other assistance under Title IV (federal financial aid). The terms and conditions of loans made, insured, or guaranteed under Title IV may be more favorable than the provisions of private education loans. For more information on federal financial aid programs, please visit http://studentaid.ed.gov.
At Strayer University, we are committed to providing students the best customer service and information regardless of the choice of lender. However, Strayer University is not a lender and is not providing legal, accounting, or financial planning services. Any agreements entered into with lenders exist solely between the lender and the student, and Strayer University assumes no obligation or liability in connection with any of those agreements. That is why Strayer University recommends that students consult with their own advisors before making educational financing decisions.
