Faculty Spotlight

Robert Poydasheff, J.D., adjunct faculty for the Columbus Campus in Georgia, was inducted into the Georgia Military Veterans’ Hall of Fame. Poydasheff is former Mayor of the City of Columbus and a retired U.S. Army Colonel and Vietnam veteran. He later served as legislative counsel for the late Howard “Bo” Calloway, Secretary of the Army, and as staff judge advocate (senior counsel) at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and Fort Benning, Georgia.

Poydasheff holds a master’s degree in international relations from Boston University and earned his juris doctorate from Tulane University College of Law. He has been a member of Strayer University’s faculty since 2010, teaching courses in legal studies and political science. “The atmosphere at the Columbus Campus is inspiring,” says Poydasheff. “It’s the diversity of the students that I love—each has his or her own challenges and goals, but they are all earning an education to better their lives.”

Brandi Mason (MEd ’15) is the statewide training coordinator for the Alabama Lifespan Respite Resource Network at United Cerebral Palsy of Huntsville & Tennessee Valley. Mason is also a certified REST (Respite Education and Support Tools) trainer.


Tampa East Campus

Regenia Smith (MEd ’13) is a fourth grade teacher at Collins Elementary School in Riverview Fla. Smith was awarded the Governor’s Shine Award in 2014.

Mary Ellen Mooney (BBA ’06) is director, Cord Blood Operations, GenCure Cord Blood Center at BioBridge Global in San Antonio, Texas.

Vickie Maria Suddeth (AA ’08, BBA ’10) has authored two books, “Behind My Smile: The Truth About Vickie Garth Robinson” and “Behind My Smile: Wearing The Mask,” published by BookSurge Publishing.¬†

Linda Stallworth (MEd ’14) started The Christopher Stallworth Foundation, providing academic scholarships, grants and other resources to disadvantaged college students. Stallworth also authored a book, “Minorities in Postsecondary Education.”

Wendy Buckley (BSIB ’06) is president and founder of Specialty Transportation and Regulatory Services in Bensalem, Pa.

Jason Pendergrass (MBA ’11) is a process engineer for Kruger Tissue Limited in Memphis, Tenn. Pendergrass also authored a book, “Business Lessons of a Rookie Entrepreneur.”

Tizoc Loza (MBA ’12) is a manager for Global Supplier Diversity Programs/Government Relations for Northrop Grumman. Loza recently received the Corporate Promotion of Education award at the annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards—STEM Global Competitiveness Conference.

Christina Berta (MBA ’05) is chief financial officer of the Williamsburg-James City Public School District in Williamsburg, Va.
