Faculty Spotlight

Richard Zappile, adjunct faculty for the Cristiana Campus in Delaware, has been named partner at Protocol Security Partners, a security and investigative service in Blackwood, N.J. Zappile previously served as chief of police and director of public safety for the Philadelphia Housing Authority. He also served as deputy mayor of Philadelphia and deputy police commissioner and chief of detectives for the Philadelphia Police Department.

“In the criminal justice courses I teach at Strayer University, I have come across many motivated, career-oriented students who are eager to make a difference in the field,” says Zappile. “I enjoy sharing my experiences with them and helping them to achieve their goals.”

Kirby Frazier (MBA ’09) is a process engineer and consultant for TydenBrooks, a security contractor in Tallapoosa, Ga.

Tameka Pettis (MBA student) is founder and CEO of Chattbox, a nonprofit that provides scholarship funds to college-bound students who are also heart transplant recipients in Georgia.

Bradley Bowen (BBA ’09 is a Criminal Justice Instructor at Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC.

Trevor Jones (MBA) is director of Internal Audit for Intermountain Healthcare in Utah.

Jordan Miracle (AA student) was crowned the winner of the Ohio Cinderella Woman pageant. Miracle is also a teller for Chase Bank.

LaQuetta Peoples (MEd) founded Unto Us A Child Is Born Family Resources, Inc., a nonprofit agency in Tuscaloosa, Ala., providing services to grandparents who have taken on the role of parenting again.

Keirsten Boyd (MSHRM ’15) is a service manager for Wells Fargo in Charleston, S.C.

Brenda Myers (BBA ’15) was an intern for Judge K. Harrington in Charleston and Berkeley Counties while earning her degree. Upon completing her program of study, Myers was offered a job as an assistant to Judge Harrington in Family Court.

Monica Callahan (MBA ’02) is community engagement director for UCI Road World Championship—Richmond 2015, responsible for coordinating thousands of volunteers who support the nine-day race.

Sareeta Spriggs (MBA ’10) is a Capital City Fellow for the Government of the District of Columbia, working in the Office of the Chief of Staff for Mayor Muriel Bowser on Operations, Technology and Community Engagement Initiatives.
