Alternate Credit Methods

Some exams may replace more than one course. Check with your local campus for credit equivalencies.


CLEP- CLEP exams are available to undergraduate students for select humanities, business, science, and accounting courses. Credit is awarded upon successful completion of the exam. CLEP exams can be taken at any Strayer campus and are administered by the College Board.


DSST- DSST exams are available to undergraduate students for select humanities, business, science, and accounting courses. Credit is awarded upon successful completion of the exam. DSST exams can be taken at any Strayer campus and are administered by DANTES.


Challenge Exams- Challenge Exams are available to undergraduate students for select business, accounting, and information systems and technology courses. The Strayer designed exams are designed to test a student’s knowledge of the subject area for the course. Challenge exams can be taken at any Strayer campus or online.


Experiential Learning Portfolios- Undergraduate students may be able to earn credit for past professional experiences. ELPs are available for most degree related courses.
