Strayer University realizes that the majority of our students have earned credit from other educational sources. It is our goal to maximize previous educational experience and evaluate educational history as it will apply and benefit the student in a degree program. Educational documents from other post-secondary educational institutions, military education, and service experience are all resources for evaluation.
Military experience and other non-traditional institutional credits are evaluated for transfer credit based upon the recommendations of the American Council on Education (ACE). The ACE recommendation service assists adult learners in obtaining academic credit for formal courses taken outside the college and university degree program setting. It does this by providing educational institutions with reliable information to use in making decisions on awarding credit from these types of non-traditional institutions.
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) are additional resources for evaluation. The College Level Examination Program enables students to earn credit in certain areas of study through examination.
