VA reimbursement varies depending on whether you attend classes full time or less than full time.
Please see the charts below to learn how full-time and part-time statuses are determined.
Undergraduate
| 1 undergraduate (11 week term) | less 1/2 time |
| 2 undergraduate (11 week term) | 1/2 time |
| 3 undergraduate (11 week term) | full time |
| 1 undergraduate (mini 5 week term) | 3/4 time |
| 1 undergraduate (1st mini 5 week term) + 1 undergraduate (2nd mini 5 week term) |
3/4 time |
| 1 undergraduate (1st mini 5 week term) + 1 undergraduate (2nd mini 5 week term) + 1 undergraduate (11 week term) |
full time |
PLEASE NOTE
- 2 undergraduate (11-week term) + 1 undergraduate (1st mini 5-week term) – during the time the student is enrolled in all three classes, the VA will consider the student full-time; when the mini-session ends, the VA will consider the student as 1/2 for the remainder of the term.
- 2 undergraduate (11-week term) + 1 undergraduate (2nd mini 5-week term) – for the start of the quarter, the VA will consider the student as 1/2 time until the 2nd mini session begins; then the VA will consider the student full-time.
Graduate
| 1 graduate (11 week term) | 1/2 time |
| 2 graduate (11 week term) | full time |
| 1 graduate + 1 undergraduate prerequisite | 3/4 time |
| 2 undergraduate prerequisites | 1/2 time |
Students receive educational checks from the VA on a monthly basis. Renewals are not automatic, and you should verify enrollment each month through the WAVE system at https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave/default.cfm or call the VA at 1-877-823-2378.
