Spotlight: Jeff Lubin (BBA ’75) Like many others, for a long time, Jeff Lubin (BBA ’75) wasn’t quite sure what to do with his life. After a time in the Navy, Jeff bounced around New York City where he toured with friends in a band, mingling with icons like Jimi Hendrix and other legendary performers. Yet, he eventually he realized that this way of life wasn’t sustainable. Energetic and entrepreneurial, Jeff chose Strayer University to earn his business degree.

When he graduated in 1975, Jeff was working at Library of Congress, where he would remain for 16 years. At the height of his career, Jeff was very comfortable, but he had another passion: photography. He would practice his hobby in the afternoons, eventually offering paid services and opening his own studio

in 1985. Armed with his business degree, he applied unique marketing tactics (and a lot of grit!) to grow his studio. Today, Jeff has made millions creating portraits for professional athletes, politicians, and entertainers, along with many families and children.

When asked for advice, Jeff says, “Just go for it. Dive into it. It’s never too late to pursue your dreams. I was nobody special. If I could do it, so can you.”
