The Class of 2018
The morning of Strayer University’s commencement ceremony is busy and energetic. Students line up backstage, asking friends to adjust caps and gowns, sharing photos on social media, and securing last minute details, such as honor medallions and programs. It’s an exciting start to the big day, yet, in the middle of the bustle, there are quieter moments of contemplation.
Soon-to-be graduates can be found reflecting on the years of hard work, sacrifice, and persistence that led them to this day. Commencement is one “big moment,” a capstone for one million small moments. The first day of class, the first exam, night after night of studying, the first “A” grade, writing the 100th paper, passing a challenging statistics course—those many moments have collectively prepared Strayer students to cross the graduation stage.
The first ceremony in Tampa on May 19 kicked off Strayer’s 2018 commencement schedule, followed by Washington D.C. on June 23 and Charlotte, N.C., on August 4. Two more ceremonies will follow in Atlanta, Ga., on October 13 and Baltimore, Md., on December 1.
